I have to admit, I don't really like Walmart. But I have to admit, I don't really like Walmart. But as full-time RVers, who spend a lot of time in small towns, we've gotten used to shopping there. So when we visited Bentonville, AR and saw that there was a Walmart Museum, we had to check it out. And it actually turned out to be a pretty fun little museum.

The Walmart Museum is housed in Walton's 5 & 10, the original Bentonville store where Sam Walton started building what would eventually become Walmart. Inside you'll find old products and advertisements, memorabilia, Sam Walton's pickup truck and office, and some genuinely weird and fun pieces of Walmart history.

It's also completely free, which makes it an especially easy stop if you're exploring Bentonville.

The museum definitely tells Walmart's version of its own history, which is worth keeping in mind as you walk through it, but even if you're not a Walmart person, I think there's enough interesting history and nostalgia here to make it worth an hour or so.

I've got more photos, history, and details about visiting in the full post, but in the meantime, save this for your next trip to Bentonville. Because yes, there really is a Walmart museum.

Another travel day, another new state! Today we’re Another travel day, another new state! Today we’re moving our house on wheels 160 miles from Woodford, Vermont, to Tamworth, New Hampshire. If you’re new here, we’re Josh and Jen, and we’ve been living full-time in our 30-foot travel trailer for almost three years, along with our cat Betsey and our snake Orin.

This fall we’re spending a lot of time exploring New England and the Northwest, and both Vermont and New Hampshire were completely new states for us. By the time we finish this trip, we’ll each have visited 44 states, which feels pretty wild considering this all started with us deciding to move into a travel trailer full time.

Travel days aren't always the most exciting part of RV life, but moving our entire house 160 miles definitely makes for an interesting day.

One of the Best FREE Things to Do at Niagara Falls One of the Best FREE Things to Do at Niagara Falls

If you're visiting Niagara Falls, don't skip the Niagara Power Vista Visitor Center! It's completely free and is a surprisingly fun way to learn about the massive amount of energy and power being generated by the Niagara River.

The visitor center has tons of interactive exhibits and games where you can learn how hydroelectric power works, experiment with electricity, and explore the history of Niagara's role in power generation. And even if you're not particularly interested in energy, there's a great scenic overlook where you can look out over the Niagara River and the surrounding area.

We spent a week last year at Kentucky Dam Village We spent a week last year at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park while exploring Land Between the Lakes and Paducah, and I think this is one of those campgrounds where the location is really the selling point.

The campground isn't fancy, but it was quiet, our site was huge, and we had everything we needed. Plus, being right on Kentucky Lake meant there was plenty to do without going far. We spent most of our time out exploring, so having an affordable campground that worked as a home base was exactly what we were looking for.

And at $30–$35 a night for an electric and water site, it's a pretty good deal compared to a lot of the campgrounds we've stayed at.

I've got all the details on the campground, what our site was like, the amenities, prices, and what there is to do around the park in the full post: 🔗 in bio!

Save this one if Kentucky or Land Between the Lakes is on your list!
