We spent a peaceful week at Trackrock Campground & Cabins, tucked between Blairsville and Hiawassee, Georgia. This sprawling 250-acre property is bordered on three sides by the Chattahoochee National Forest, so the scenery is exactly what you’d hope for- lush, quiet, and full of birdsong. It’s even a designated Appalachian Botanical Sanctuary! Whether you’re RVing like us, pitching a tent, or cozying up in a cabin, Trackrock makes it easy to slow down and soak in the North Georgia mountains.

RV Camping at Trackrock
As full-time RVers, we really appreciated how well set up Trackrock is for big rigs. There are 95 shaded RV sites with both back-in and pull-through options. All sites have:
- 30/50 amp service
- Full hookups (water, sewer, electric)
- Picnic tables and fire rings
- Access to a dump station and 2 showerhouses
- Campground Wi-Fi
Rates are pretty reasonable at $50/night or $300/week, especially for everything that’s included.

Tent Camping at Trackrock
Tent campers aren’t left out here. All of the tent campsites at Trackrock have power and electric. Tent camping costs $30/night or $180/week, and you still get access to all the campground amenities.
Everything is spaced out well, so you don’t feel like you’re on top of your neighbors, and you still get your own fire ring and picnic table. If we weren’t RVing, we’d totally tent camp here for a weekend unplugged.

Trackrock Cabins
If roughing it isn’t your thing, Trackrock’s cabins are the perfect cozy alternative. You can pick from:
- Lakeside cabins (sleeps 2–4) with one queen + one full bed
- Wooded cabins (sleeps 2–6) with one queen + two full beds
- Cabins range from $129–$139 per night
Each one comes fully stocked with:
- Central A/C and heat
- Gas fireplace for chilly evenings
- Full kitchen (microwave, fridge, oven, dishes, cookware)
- Satellite TV
- Bedding and kitchen linens (but bring your own bath towels)
Pet-friendly options are available too, but only in cabins 1 and 5, so plan ahead. The cabins feel rustic but comfortable- great for a family trip or a quiet couples’ weekend.

Amenities & Activities at Trackrock Campground
One thing we really loved about Trackrock is how much there is to do without ever leaving the property. It’s super family-friendly, but it’s also peaceful enough for adults traveling solo or as a couple. Here’s what you’ll find:
- A small lake for swimming and fishing (no license needed!)
- Hiking trails right from the campground
- 2 playgrounds for the kids
- Game room with classics for a rainy day
- Hayrides, horseshoes, volleyball, cornhole, and other lawn games
- Laundry facilities (very handy for long stays)

Our Review of Trackrock Campground and Cabins
We spent a week at Trackrock Campground in northern Georgia and picked it mainly because it’s close to Brasstown Bald, the state’s high point. It turned out to be a really peaceful spot to stay.
When we pulled in, the office was already closed, but they had an after-hours check-in board, which we always appreciate. The only snag was that when we got to our site, someone else was already set up there. After a quick phone call, a staff member came out and moved us to another site. The next morning, we found out the mystery camper had just come off the Appalachian Trail and didn’t realize they had taken a reserved site. They were apologetic, and the office staff was really kind and helpful about the whole situation.

The campground itself was lovely- quiet and tucked into the woods, so it felt a lot more like camping in a state park than a typical private campground that sometimes feels like a parking lot. We liked that there was plenty of shade and space between sites, which made it feel more private. Some sites might be tricky if you’re in a bigger rig, especially the ones higher up on the hill, but otherwise it was easy to get around.
One surprise was the game room. We had fun playing pool one evening, which isn’t an amenity we usually have access to. Trackrock would be a great choice for families too, with multiple playgrounds and a little lake to enjoy.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it if you’re looking for a peaceful, woodsy basecamp in north Georgia.
