This museum is two large buildings- one focused on aircraft and one focused on space exploration. One of their big highlights is the Spruce Goose, which is considered the largest flying boat ever built. The plane was designed by Howard Hughes and is actually made of birch wood. This was our first real look at a PNW rainforest and we saw some really big old growth sitka spruces! It's such a lush landscape with ferns, mosses, and lichens growing on just about everything.
