Everything You Need to Know About Talladega Pit Stop RV Park (With Savings!)

We stopped at Talladega Pit Stop RV Park while knocking out a stretch of southern U.S. highpoints, including Alabama’s highest peak- Cheaha Mountain. The campground made a super convenient home base while we explored the area and checked off another summit. Whether you’re chasing highpoints, heading to the Talladega races, or just road-tripping through Alabama, this spot has a lot to offer. Here’s our full guide and honest review from our stay!

About Talladega Pit Stop RV Park

4889 Speedway Blvd, Lincoln, AL 35096

Talladega Pit Stop RV Park has a little something for every kind of camper, whether you’re rolling in with your own rig or looking for a place to crash for the weekend.

The RV sites are grassy and come with full hook-ups, which makes setting up super easy. There’s a mix of 30 amp spots and a few 50 amp ones if you need a bit more power. It’s a great spot to plug in, kick back, and enjoy some downtime.

If you’re not traveling with your own camper, the park has a variety of cabins and tiny homes available. They come in different sizes, all with their own bathrooms, and the larger ones even have kitchenettes- perfect for making a quick meal or morning coffee. A few RVs have also been converted into cabin-style rentals, which is a fun option if you’re curious about RV life without fully committing.

There are also primitive tent sites if you’re into keeping things simple and sleeping under the stars.

They offer ongoing and monthly rates too, which is a great option if you’re sticking around for race week or just want to settle in for a bit.

If you’re heading to Talladega for race week, this park is in the perfect spot, it’s just a couple minutes down the road from both the Talladega Superspeedway and the Talladega Short Track. You really can’t beat the location.

They offer special race week packages that make the whole experience super convenient. We’re talking shuttle rides to the speedway, breakfast included, a Saturday night concert, and even late checkout so you’re not rushing out the next morning.

It’s a solid option for full hookup camping that won’t wreck your budget, especially during big race weekends when spots nearby can get pricey or book up fast.

Our Review of Talladega Pit Stop RV Park

When we pulled into Talladega Pit Stop and called the staff to check in, they saw that our reserved spot was right between two rigs traveling together, so they asked if it was ok to switch our site. We, of course, said yes so we’d have more breathing room. This worked out well since we mostly had only one neighbor, and sometimes none right next to us.

The staff was awesome- super friendly and helpful from the start. You can tell they care about the park and the people staying there. The grounds were well-kept, and we noticed they were actively working on little upgrades, like building a new flower bed while we were there. It’s always a good sign when a campground’s clearly being maintained and improved.

The RV sites are pretty close together unless you snag one of their “super sites,” which have a bit more space to spread out. After a good rain, some areas of the park, especially the primitive tent sites, got pretty soggy. The tent area was basically flooded out at one point, so that’s something to keep in mind if you’re camping in wet weather.

There’s a noticeable community vibe here, especially among the long-term residents. A lot of the tiny homes are lived in full-time, and there’s an area in the back with RVs that seem to be home for folks long-term too. Everyone kept to themselves, but you could tell there was a little neighborhood feel among them.

We weren’t there during a race week, so it was quiet and not too busy- just how we like it. Plus, it was an easy drive to nearby towns like Talladega, Oxford, and Anniston if you need groceries, restaurants, or other city stuff.

All in all, it’s a solid spot with great people, convenient access to the track, and a down-to-earth vibe.

How We Saved 20% with Harvest Hosts (Yes, Really!)

One of the best surprises of our stay at Talladega Pit Stop RV Park was that we saved 20% off our entire stay thanks to our Harvest Hosts membership- and we almost missed it!

If you haven’t heard of it yet, Harvest Hosts is a membership program that gives RVers access to thousands of unique overnight camping experiences at places like wineries, farms, breweries, museums, and more. It’s one of our favorite ways to find cool, off-the-beaten-path places to stay.

What we didn’t realize until recently is that Harvest Hosts now includes the discount program formerly known as CampersCard, at no extra cost! That means in addition to their traditional host sites, members now get exclusive campground discounts, often ranging from 10% to 20% off or more. Some are for one night, but others (like Talladega Pit Stop!) give you a discount on your entire stay.

We only found out when we were looking for a regular Harvest Hosts spot and noticed a new little discount icon on the map. Turns out, if you click on that icon, it’ll show you campgrounds offering member discounts. It’s super easy to search, just like looking for a host site, and once you find a spot, it’ll give you a coupon code to use when booking online. That’s exactly how we saved at Talladega Pit Stop. It was simple and absolutely worth it.

If you’re already a Harvest Hosts member, these discounts are just sitting there waiting for you. And if you’re not yet a member, this is the perfect time to join.
